Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu, pick up from airport and drop to hotel, orientation about trip 1300m
Welcome to Nepal! Our representative will be waiting for you at the Tribhuwan International Airport, once you land you will picked up from there and dropped to your assigned hotel. Take some rest or you can visit us at our office for some details and orientation about the trek. In the evening, you can stroll around Thamel, the main tourist hub in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2 : Kathmandu-Pokhara and overnight stay
There are two choices to travel to Pokhara, you can either take a short flight or a 6 hour drive to Pokhara, without a doubt Pokhara is the most beautiful city in Nepal, and it offers most modern amenities without the excessive jostle of Kathmandu's busy streets. The Fewa lake right beside the city is a beautiful body of water where tourists can engage in fun activities like boating, swimming etc. While in Pokhara you can try out various optional activities like paragliding, light aircraft rides, zip lining, and biking. Most of the famous Annapurna circuit treks start from Pokhara, so does our Ghorepani-Poonhill Sunrise Trek. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 3 : Pokhara-Nayapul- Tikhedhunga/Ulleri
Begin your day with an early start and a two-hour drive to Nayapul, the starting point and also the finishing point of the trek. After about twenty minutes walk from Nayapul, you will reach a fork in the trail that splits; you will be taking the one to either Ghorepani or Ghandruk. From here you enter the Annapurna Sanctuary. Continue to walk past little villages that have lodges and restaurants till you get to Tikhedhunga, after that it is mostly uphill on stone steps surrounded by rich foliage. Tikhedhunga would be the ideal place to spend the night. Overnight in Tikhedhunga.

Day 4 : Tikhedhunga/Ulleri-Ghorepani
You can start your trek, after some breakfast. Ulleri is a litte farther away from Tikhedhunga, you have to walk further and after a long and steep climb and further trek you will finally reach Ulleri. After some rest you can continue ahead and walk past little villages and forest trails towards Ghorepani. The village of Ghorepani is a beautiful quaint mountain destination surrounded by hills and mountains of spectacular beauty. Interestingly earlier this village used to be a stop for horses to drink water to quench their thirst. At Ghorepani, you can use the internet to check your mails or social media. Overnight in Ghorepani.

Day 5 : Sunrise from Poonhill- Tadapani
Check out the dreamiest sunrise from Poonhill, it will take an hour’s walk before dawn to Poon Hill. The sights of the beautiful mountain sunrise await us is simply awe-inspiring. You will also see the Dhaulagiri range to the left, which itself is the tallest 8000m peak to be seen from here. The first light of the sun dramatically hits the peak, the beautiful Annapurna Mountains that are closer to the right. The famous fishtail mountain, named for its peak's similarity to the tail of a fish can be seen in its regal brilliance from here. After the sunrise view you can head forward for Tadapani. The village of Tadapani is a main stopping point on the Annapurna trekking circuit, it features the spectacular views of Annapurna II, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare, the famous "Fish Tail" peak. Overnight in Tadapani.

Day 6 : Tadapani-Chhomrong
The track to towards Chhomrong is mostly downhill walking, the trek today is more pleasant as you once again trek through the rhododendron and oak forests. By mid afternoon you will arrive at the Gurung village of Chhomrong, just in time for lunch, this early arrival also gives you some more time to explore the incredible views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre rangers. You can relax or go meet the locals, they are quite friendly. Overnight in Chhomrong.

Day 7 : Chhomrong- Himalaya Hotel
As you move ahead today, follow the stone steps Forward to Kuldi Ghar for about 3 hrs and down to the bank of Modi river viewing thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the gorge. Relish awe-inspiring views of Annapurna mountain ranges and Machhapuchhare, we are sure you will gather more energy and enthusiasm to explore further. All in your five-hour walking, you will cross Modi Khola, pass through Khuldigar, Bamboo and Dovan and finally reach Himalaya Hotel. Overnight in Himalaya.

Day 8 : Himalaya-Annapurna Base Camp 4,237m
Feel the nip of the cold thin air, as you climb high above the starting point at Himalaya, overlooking a river far below. From here you have to do a bit of scaling the sideways mound of a shimmering glacier and then head down the other side to the glacier bed before reaching the Annapurna Base Camp. Take a incredible view from above sea level, it is where you will be spending your night. Look aronnd! You are now miles above others, take the day and wander the base camp and soak in the beauty and splendor of Annapurna. We bet that the sunrise and sunsets are stunning and it should not to be missed. Take as much pictures as you want. Overnight in ABC.

Day 9 : ABC-Bamboo
Take one last view of the brilliant Annapurna sunrise before trekking down the mountain. You have to return following the same trail back. The trail drops by 1700m to the bank of Modi Khola to Bamboo at 2345m. You will find few teahouses/lodges available to stay at Bamboo. The trek today ends in the village of Bamboo, the village got it’s name from the dense bamboo grove that surrounds it. Overnight in Bamboo.

Day 10 : Bambu-Jhinu Hot Spring
Today you will have to trek until Chhomrung, follow the same trail back from Bamboo. After you have pass Khuldighar, continue your trail through rhododendron and bamboo fields. Eventually, the trail descends very abruptly from Chhomrung to Jhinu Hot Spring. Once there you can enjoy the natural hot springs at Jhinu, it is nearby and is a popular tourist attraction, where you can spend your afternoon on the natural hot Pool, it is believed that the minerals from the hot water will relief pain and tiredness. Overnight in Guesthouse.

Day 11 : Jhinu Hot Spring-Nayapaul-Pokhara and overnight stay
It will be mostly downhill trek all the way to Birethanti, and it is relatively easy. Walk down a staircase paved with stone, bending in and out of the villages and then terraced farmlands. The track keeps following downwards without intervals until Modi Khola river valley. It is from Birethanti, you will have to take about a 45 minute walk to reach Naya Pul. Your foot journey comes to an end at Nayapul. Then a drive to Pokhara, marks the end of your trek. Pokhara is a good place to hang around, the bars at the lakeside are open till midnight, you can have some good time. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 12 : Pokhara-Kathmandu and overnight stay following farewell dinner with Nepali cultural show
There are two options to get to Kathmandu, you can either fly or drive via road. If you choose to fly, please note that the left side windows offer more spectacular views of the Himalayas. If you choose to drive the roadway too offers stunning scenery. Once you reach Kathmandu, you can relax or stroll around the city for some souvenir shopping. In the evening, have dinner with us at the restaurant and enjoy Nepali Cultural Show, while you wine and dine. The show will be presented by professional Nepalese artists, we are sure you will be entertained. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 13 : Departure from Nepal
Your exciting trip comes to a close today, however it is not the end. We are sure you will be planning for another exciting trip with us very soon. After breakfast our representative will drop you off at the airport, three hours before your international flight. Farewell friend.

Health and experiments requirements

Apart from very high altitude treks in Nepal, most other treks available are doable if you are normally fit and healthy. However there are things that you have to keep in mind before embarking on that trek in Nepal. You can prepare for a trek months in advance by doing some light exercises in the morning, it will keep you fit and prepared for treks ahead.

Trekking in Nepal also involves longs hours of walking in various different terrain and altitudes, so a normal level of fitness is of the essence.

Although not necessary, it is also good if you have some prior trekking experience, before you trek in Nepal. You can book some local treks in your homeland or organize a trek with your friends and family, this will be a possible way to test and see if you are fit for a trek in Nepal.

Before you come for a trekking in Nepal, please read this Equipment and packing check list. This is a list of details of the equipment and other items you will need for your trek in Nepal. Most of these items are easily available for rent or sale in Kathmandu.

Please bear in mind that most of the trekking equipment in Nepal is either used or sold by other trekkers or mountaineering expeditions or locally made reproductions of internationally known brands. Although you can buy new one, the decision is yours to take.
